How to Make ringtones for iPhone

This is a step by step tutorial on how to make ringtones for the iPhone with DJ ToneXpress

Let's say that you just bought an iPhone and you want to make custom ringtones for it, using DJ ToneXpress .

The entire process is very easy, straight forward and it should not take you more then 3 minutes.

Let's start first by creating a ringtone with DJ ToneXpress, the way you normally would do, no matter what phone model you have.

Step1 - Select your song.

Open the application and Browse for the song file that you want to convert into a ringtone. You will have the option to Browse for the file on your computer, browse for songs on your audio CDs, your Winamp playlist, iTunes Playlists or from a YouTube video.

After you select the song, (in our case, lets consider that we want to convert a song (US National Anthem) from the computer.), click on the 'Continue' button to get to the next step.

Step2 - Edit the song.

The song will be analyzed and it will be prepared for editing.
You will be able to choose exactly what part of the song you want as a ringtone for your iPhone, by draging the 'Start' and 'End' buttons.

The maximum length of the segment you can ringtonize is 1 minute (the shortest, 5 seconds). You can also zoom in on the song wave form, apply fade-in and fade-out and control volume.

Now that you have made your ringtone, you can click 'Continue' to go to the next step to transfer it to your iPhone.

Step3 - Save the ringtone to your comnputer

In Step 3, select the "iPhone instructions" tab. Then click on "Save file to My Computer". You will then be asked where to save the ringtone file you just created.

Remember the location/folder since you will need to double click on the file, which will open it (and save it) in iTunes and prepare you to transfer to your iPhone.

Step4 - Send the ringtone to your iPhone

Congratulations, you are almost done. Double clicking on the ringtone from where you saved it, will open iTunes and the ringtone will play and appear under the "Ringtones" Library, like in the picture below.

If you dont have iTunes installed, get the latest version from here.
Next, connect your iPhone to your computer, using the cable provided. Depending on your settings, sync will either happen automatically, or by clicking the big "Sync" button.

Make sure in your settings for ringtones section, "sync ringtones" is checked.

If sync is not automatically, hit the "Sync" button at the bottom of the iTunes window. The ringtones should upload to your iPhone now.
When sync is done and it is ok to disconnect the iPhone, disconnect it.
